                                                              James Earl Copelin

I’m a sophomore attending Loveland high school, in the small and active town of Loveland Colorado, an art based town north of Denver. Here I take full advantage of the access I have to the mountains and beautiful wild life. Even though my free time is limited, is filled with mountain biking, hiking and anything else with wheels. I love taking risks, although there "calculated risks", I love to push my gear and body to there ultimate limits. I have never broken my bones, but I’ve damaged everything else, I’ve gone threw 2 mountain bikes and 3 detailers (rear shifters), I’ve also lost most the skin on my body over time, I’m littered with scars, and so is my abused equipment. I try to live each day like it’s my last, dream vacations and 14ners consume my life. I try to drive my hands with the quote, "work hard, play hard". And in Loveland I’ve actually manage to do this successfully. Even thought Loveland small, its has big things going for it, like the Geometry and Construction program at Loveland High school.
I’ve always been told I’m a hard worker, I now see how that will drastically help me post high school. In the Geometry in construction program I’ve had my work ethics and real world skills put to the test. I’ve seen how important instructions are, and how important it is to not cut corners because they will be found and you will be held accountable. Not only have I leaned how important work ethics will become. I’ve had hands on experience doing tasks that will stick to me the rest of my life. I feel extremely lucky to have instructors like Robert, Mr. Moore, Mr.Berk and many other detected members to bust my butt and make me better at everything I do. Everything from framing walls, to clean up work I’ve had hands on experiences that I know Ill use far past my High school carrier, maybe these skill will be pasted onto my children somewhere far down the road. I know the skills I’ve learned in this class with help meet my future goals. I truly am grateful for all the time put into my education to make me the best I can be in this short and Geometry and Construction class.
To Robert and Carrie, I loved building our lovely home with my fellow classmates, it was a GREAT experience for me, if I went back in time, I would take this class again, without a seconds thought. I loved your presentation day where u told us more about yourself s and your awesome travails, I someday wish to travel the world...or should I say some of it, its a big world. I liked how u were both with us almost everyday, you two set a high standard for the students and even teachers to follow behind, it means a lot to me that you were there in the cold and frigid weather getting your hands dirty along with us. Robert, I enjoyed working and learning from you, seems like everyday I spent working along with you I learned something new and interesting. Someday I hope to see you again to talk about your home how’s everything coming along, even though this was tedious and strenuous at times, it was my PLEASURE to be apart of such an awesome project, I liked the building, but I loved the purpose.
